About Us
Our founder Kristian Cuffin first opened Cuffed-in Coffee in August of 2019. The original Coffee shop was a Horsebox and Kristian (Cuff) battled through bad weather and fought off the competition to cement himself as the best coffee in Holyhead.
As the business and brand developed over the first 12 months the opportunity for a second shop soon approached. The first bricks-and-mortar Cafe opened in October of 2020 and hit Holyhead High Street by storm, unfortunately, COVID had locked down the country.
As COVID was taking its toll on other small businesses and customers were in short supply Cuff and his small team battled to keep both the horsebox and the Caffe open, in a takeaway capacity. As more and more people slowly emerged for their one hour of activity the reputation of 'Cuffs Cafe' grew. The cafe was open come rain or shine and people wanted coffee.
After another long and tedious 12 months, the business and brand were going strong, but it was time for an upgrade, the horsebox had done its job and in October 2021 we moved into what is now the famous Cuffed in Container.
The converted shipping container was somewhere that we could now allow people to sit inside and keep warm during the winter months. As upgrades go this was the one to take our original site to the next level.
Another 12 months flew by, and another summer was done and dusted, we wanted to make some big moves. Next job: Roastery!
After some hard work and a few months, we opened our roastery in October 2022. We got straight to roasting; we now roast our speciality house blend and decaf coffee that is served across all of our stores in the cup and to buy by the bag and we supply a handful of other small businesses across North Wales.
Moving into 2023 with a team of 10 and a handful of accolades behind us we opened a third café that summer that now serves delicious coffee and hot food. We continued to progress, develop relationships, sponsor athletes, plan events and build the Cuffed-in Coffee brand. As years go 2023 was great.
And here we are now 2024 a whole year ahead of us.
